Shell 400/700 Resin
Product Introduction
Aplo Shell 400 and Aplo Shell 700 are mixed-mode chromatography resins that integrate size-exclusion, hydrophobic, and ion-exchange interactions. The resin microspheres feature an inert outer shell without any ligands, which does not adsorb proteins. However, this shell has specific pore sizes that act as a molecular sieve, preventing large molecules or viral particles from entering the microsphere interior. The core contains ligands with dual ion-exchange and hydrophobic functions, enabling binding to most proteins. Using highly rigid agarose as the matrix, Aplo Shell 400 and Aplo Shell 700 exhibit strong rigidity, high pressure resistance, and fast flow rates. They maintain high dynamic binding capacity under high-flow-rate conditions, allowing rapid processing of large sample volumes. These resins are commonly used for intermediate and polishing steps in biomolecule purification, particularly for viral particle polishing.
